Sri Bhakta Aanjaneya Trust (SBAT) Nerul is Public Charitable Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1961. SBAT is managed by a team of trustees and complies with all statutory and legal requirements.
The Main Objective of SBAT is to manage the spacious and serene temple complex located at the renowned South Indian Education Society (SIES) Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Vidyapuram, Nerul, Navi Mumbai. This temple complex houses the Holy Deities of Sri Bhakta Aanjaneya, Devi Kamakshi Amman, Sri Ramchandra, Sri Ganesh, Sri Shiva and Sri Adi Shankara with his disciples. Other Holy Deities also include Sri Karthikeya, Sri Vishnu and Devi Varahi. SBAT organises and conducts all Hindu religious festivals, and poojas on all important days as per the Hindu Almanac, and in accordance with the Shastras.
The first consecration in this temple complex was that of Sri Bhakta Aanjaneya on 9th February 2000. At the time of this consecration this Holy Deity was the tallest in India standing at a height of 33 feet and mounted on a lotus pedestal of about 6 feet. At that time Nerul did not have so many tall buildings and Lord Hanumanji could be sighted from a distance. Devotees of Lord Hanumanji throng the temple daily and imbibe His energy, positivity and serenity. The devotees include the students in the campus wishing for success in their studies and career goals.
In 2003, the other big temple for Devi Kamakshi was constructed and consecrated by the then presiding Shankaracharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti peetam – His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. This divine Devi idol is the exact replica of Sri Kamakshi Amman at Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Fittingly, the temple is known as Uttara Kamakshi Ambal like the one in Dakshin India.
The major festivals conducted are Hanuman Jayanti, Maha Shivaratri, Vasanta (Chaitra) Navarathri, Sri Rama Navami, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Sharada Navaratri. Special poojas are also conducted on all other important festival days. In the month of Aadi (Aashad- Karkadam) special poojas including Bhagavathi Seva and Vilakku Poojas are conducted with reverence. Another highlight of this temple is the Chandi Homam conducted every Pournami (Full Moon).
SBAT’s other objectives also include Financial Aid to Veda Patashalas & Veda Acharyas, Educational Aid to deserving students and Medical Aid to needy economically challenged persons.
SBAT draws its strengths from the ardent devotees who reside in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai and other nearby areas, who visit the temples in large numbers to get the blessings and contribute to enhancing the divinity of this unique temple complex. While the SIES College Campus is a temple of learning which prepares the students to succeed in the temporal world, the Sri Bhakta Aanjaneya Trust temples prepares & guides the minds of its devotees to attain spiritual knowledge and bliss.
